At Mycelia House, our grow kits are designed to support a thoughtful, enjoyable experience of growing mushrooms at home.
Because each kit contains a live biological product, some variation is natural. Growth can be influenced by timing, climate, handling, storage, and home conditions.
That said, if something isn’t right, we want to hear from you and will always do our best to help.
Grow Kits & Live Products
Our mushroom grow kits contain live inoculated substrate and are perishable by nature.
For this reason, we are unable to offer refunds or replacements for:
change of mind
delayed use after delivery
expected variation in growth timing, size, or yield
issues caused by environmental conditions, storage, or care after delivery
This includes things like:
leaving the kit unopened for too long
exposure to heat or direct sun
insufficient airflow, humidity, or suitable growing conditions
If There’s a Problem
If your grow kit arrives with a genuine issue such as:
visible contamination on arrival
clear damage in transit
incorrect item received
a major issue affecting viability shortly after opening and following care instructions
please contact us within 5 days of delivery (or within 3 days of opening, whichever is sooner).

when the kit was opened
This helps us assess the issue fairly and support you as best we can.
What We Can Offer
If we determine there is a genuine product issue, we may offer one of the following:
a replacement grow kit
store credit
a refund, where appropriate
The remedy offered will depend on the nature of the issue and product availability.
Before We Replace a Kit
Because mushroom growing can vary from home to home, we may first offer simple troubleshooting support where appropriate.
This may include guidance around:
placement
airflow
humidity
timing
identifying healthy growth vs contamination
Our aim is to help you get the best from your kit wherever possible.
Terracotta Systems & Non-Live Products
For terracotta systems and other non-perishable items, please contact us within 7 days of delivery if your item arrives damaged or incorrect.
We may offer:
replacement
exchange
refunddepending on the issue.
As these pieces are handmade and natural in finish, slight variation in texture, colour, and form is part of their character and not considered a fault.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or override your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
